Camps and Clinics 2019


 

 

 Kamloops Minor Hockey and the Kamloops Junior Blazers are excited to announce our Summer Camp series with something for every player!

CAMP 1:  SUMMER HOCKEY SKILLS AND POWER SKATING (GOALIE DEVELOPMENT)
 
PARTICIPANTS:  INITIATION-NOVICE-ATOM AGE PLAYERS (PLAYERS BORN BETWEEN 2013 - 2009)
 
CAMP DATES:  JULY 22-26, 2019
 
CAMP DETAILS:  This is a half day camp that provides 2 ice sessions per day focused on skill development, battle and compete and skating skills (goalies will be provided with a goalie development session each day).  In between ice sessions, players will get off ice training including a dryland session which will focus on hockey specific attributes such as foot speed, quickness and agility, core strength and conditioning.

CAMP 2:  SUMMER DEVELOPMENT AND REP CONDITIONING CAMP
 
PARTICIPANTS:  ATOM - PEEWEE - BANTAM - MIDGET AGE PLAYERS (PLAYERS BORN BETWEEN 2010 - 2003).  FOCUS ON THIS CAMP WILL BE FOR PLAYERS THAT ARE LOOKING TO TRYOUT FOR ATOM DEVELOPMENT, PEEWEE/BANTAM/MIDGET REP TEAMS AND THOSE LOOKING FOR A HIGHER LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT TRAINING.
 
CAMP DATES:  JULY 29-AUGUST 2, 2019
 
CAMP DETAILS:  This is a full day camp that provides 3 ice sessions per day focused on skill development, battle and compete and skating skills (goalies will be provided with a goalie development session each day).  In between ice sessions, players will get off ice training including a dryland session which will focus on hockey specific attributes such as foot speed, quickness and agility, core strength and conditioning.  Players will also have various seminars on proper nutrition and the importance of eating the right foods at the right time, mental prep, white board sessions on game tactics and for the Bantam/Midget age players, a session on what attributes scouts look for in players.  Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be provided in this full day camp.

CAMP 3:  SUMMER GOALIE CAMP
 
PARTICIPANTS:  OPEN TO GOALIES OF ALL AGES.  2 GROUPS WILL BE FORMED BASED ON AGE AND SKILL ABILITY
 
CAMP DATES:  AUGUST 6-9, 2019
 
CAMP DETAILS:  This camp will provide 2 on ice sessions, an off ice dryland/exercise session and an off ice information sessions per day.

CAMP 4:  FEMALE FUTURE STARS CAMP
 
PARTICIPANTS:  This camp is for competitive female players ages 9 to 16
 
CAMP DATES:  AUGUST 8-9, 2019

CAMP DETAILS: Future Stars® Girls Ice Hockey Camps will provide young athletes with the unique opportunity to learn from and interact with Olympic Silver Medalist Bailey Bram. This program is designed for competitive players and will focus on developing an individual skill set: speed, skating, passing, stick handling, and shooting. The camp will be both challenging and fun with each participant taking away a new understanding of the steps necessary to reach their fullest potential.

COST: $295 includes the program, Future Stars t-shirt, and certificate. Enrollment is limited to 30 skaters.

CAMP 5:  SUMMER HOCKEY SCHOOL
 
PARTICIPANTS:  INITIATION - NOVICE - ATOM - PEEWEE - BANTAM - MIDGET AGE PLAYERS (PLAYERS BORN BETWEEN 2013 - 2003).  
 
CAMP DATES:  AUGUST 12-16, 2019
 
CAMP DETAILS:  This is a full day camp that provides 3 ice sessions per day focused on skill development, battle and compete and skating skills (goalies will be provided with a goalie development session each day).  In between ice sessions, players will get off ice training including a dry land session which will focus on hockey specific attributes such as foot speed, quickness and agility, core strength and conditioning.  Players will also have various off ice seminars.  Friday will be a fun day where each group will have game scrimmages to practice the skills they have gained throughout the week.  Lunch, snacks and refreshments will be provided in this full day camp.
 
COST:  $495

CAMP 6:  POWER SKATING WITH NINA
 
PARTICIPANTS:  2 SESSIONS ARE OFFERED.  GROUP 1 WILL BE FOR PLAYERS BETWEEN 5-7 YEARS OF AGE.  GROUP 2 WILL BE FOR PLAYERS BETWEEN 8-10 YEARS OF AGE
 
CAMP DATES:  AUGUST 19-23, 2019
 
CAMP DETAILS:  These are 1 hour session per day for each group offered where the participants will focus on skating technique and instruction geared towards improving their skating abilities.

CAMP 7:  INTRODUCTION TO BODY CHECKING
 
PARTICIPANTS:  BANTAM - MIDGET
 
CAMP DATES:  AUGUST 19-23, 2019
 
CAMP DETAILS:  To ensure players are prepared for contact hockey, we are offering a week long Introduction to Body Checking/Body Positioning camp for players that will be playing contact hockey in the upcoming winter hockey season. This camp is open to anyone that will be playing contact hockey in the 2019-2020 hockey season.
