Novice (7 and 8 yr olds)

2018-2019 Season

Apr. 20 - 2018

2018-2019 Season

NOVICE is for players born in 2010 and 2011

Registration opened online February 1st for returning players in Novice. New and transferring players can begin registering June 1st, 2018. Online registration is not available for players new to our association. You can register in person at the KMHA office or by sending in the form via fax, email or mail. A copy of your child's birth certificate must accompany the registration. Registration fees are due by August 1st. Fees for new players registered after August 1st will be due at the time of registration. For more information on registration, and forms of payment accepted, etc. please go to the REGISTRATION page on this website.

The registration fee for Novice aged returning players is $510. A $100 jersey deposit is also due at the time of registration. This is a one time fee that will be refunded to you when your child no longer registers with our association, as long as the jersey is returned at the end of each season in acceptable condition.

KMHA made it mandatory starting in the 2013-2014 season that all players have a parent/guardian take the Respect in Sport (Parent) course prior to participation. The cost of the course is $12 per family, and course information can be found on the right hand side of this page. Please note: this course MUST be completed before your child will be allowed on the ice.

KMHA is a volunteer driven association. Each family is required to volunteer time in the score-clock and fulfill tournament duties when it is their turn to do so.

Our season begins September 16th with player evaluations. Players will be placed on teams once evaluated. Players must wear full equipment for all ice times (helmet, neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, athletic protection, pants, shin guards, skates) and bring their own stick. Once players are placed on a team, jerseys and socks will be distributed. The season will end in March, before Spring Break.

Novice teams have 2 ice times per week; 1 after school on a weekday and 1 on the weekend. Ice times are 1-1.25 hours in length. The 2017-18 season schedule had teams on the ice on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday and again on Sunday with all ice times at Brock Arena and other arenas. We are anticipating using the same ice times for the 2017-18 season, however, ice times will not be confirmed until registration is complete in September and we know how many players/teams we will have.
