KMHA Using ePACT Network

KMHA is proud to announce our adoption of ePACT Network for better safety. ePACT is a secure emergency network, that we will use to collect medical and emergency contact information electronically.

How it works

1)      You’ll receive an email invite to share information with KMHA.

2)      Click ‘Complete Request’ to create a free account, or log-in if you already have an existing ePACT account.

3)      Enter the required information, like medical conditions, and share it with KMHA so that coaches and team managers have access.

4)      You can update your information at any time in the year, and we will automatically be notified (e.g. a new cell phone number)

ePACT makes it far easier for you to share emergency information with us, while also ensuring we have access to records anytime, anywhere with the mobile app – even without an internet connection. And if you already have an ePACT account, it should take just two minutes to confirm that your information is up to date!

Rest assured that you always own your account and the information in it. Plus, ePACT maintains the same levels of security as online banking, and limits access only to the administrators we assign for enhanced privacy.

Juvenile Teams

Kamloops Minor Hockey is planning on hosting at least 1 Juvenile team (18 - 20 year old's) for the upcoming season. This team will play in a league within our OMAHA district. Ideally, we will have enough players register to have more than 1 team.

We have had a lot of questions from parents regarding this team and have answered the most common ones below:

Q.  Is this team a Recreational team or a Rep team?

A.  This team is a Recreational team, playing in a recreational division. The purpose of the team is to give players a safe, fun environment in which to continue playing hockey after Midget Recreation.

Q. Will this team be playing within its own division in KMHA?

A. NO, although this team is part of the association, this team will be playing within the OMAHA league against teams from other associations.

Q.  Will there be a set Schedule similar to last year?

A.  NO, games will be played both at home in Kamloops and on the road in other communities. Most games will be played on the weekend, Saturday and Sundays. The game schedule for this team will be confirmed after the OMAHA scheduling weekend in late September.

Q. Who can play on this team?

A. To be eligible to play on this team you must be between the ages of 18 and 20 years old, have played within our association in the past 2 seasons, and you cannot have been previously associated with any Junior Hockey Club outside of the association (Major Midget, Junior A, B or Major Junior).

Q. Last season there was a Zero Tolerance policy with regards to High Risk penalties and suspensions, will this continue to be the standard?

A.  As an association we pride ourselves on providing a safe and respectful experience both on and off the ice. We have always made and will continue to make this a priority, and this team will be no different. The highest level of respect and sportsmanship among these players will be expected. It will be at the discretion of our association, based on the players history, whether acceptance to this team will be approved.

Q. Will there be team fees and such over and above the initial League fees?

A. Team fees are set by the teams coach and parents, we would assume that yes, there will be additional fee associated with playing on this team.

Q. When do I need to register by?

A. Registration and payment is the same as for the rest of the association, so this needs to be in to the KMHA office by August 1st.

Registrations for the team will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, with players then being wait listed for subsequent teams.

Fees will be $390 + $100 jersey deposit.

If you are interested in playing on this team, please complete a registration form and either drop off, email, fax or mail to the KMHA office.

Feedback on the Juvenile division is still welcome and if you would like more information, please contact KMHA Juvenile Director, John Campbell -

The First Shift

The First Shift program is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to hockey families. This means breaking down the barriers that exist for many parents and making them feel at home within our hockey community. We want families to experience the game at its best — to understand why so many Canadians feel an inherent love for the sport — and to stimulate a desire for continued participation. We want to take away any intimidation as it relates to equipment requirements, and/or rules of the game, remove potential safety concerns, and, most importantly, provide an experience that is memorable and fun
