U11-U15 Recreation Hockey: This is a recreational level of hockey.  Players in the Recreational Program will be evaluated.  Using these evaluations, the players will be drafted on to teams, with our best efforts to create balanced teams. The year will consist of a weekday shared practice with another recreation team, and a weekend game. We intend to keep the practice times and days as constant as possible. There will be one home tournament, and teams may attend up to two away tournaments, if the coach and parents/team agree to do so. Each team will have a team budget to offset expenses for the season. Team fees can be up to a maximum of $300 per player to pay for tournaments, apparel, and anything else that the team decides. Teams have the option to fundraise to offset the team fees. There is minimal travel, in the form of occasional exhibition games, and lower expense at this level; and players will experience great hockey while having fun. There is a competitive element to the league with playoffs being played at the end of the season with the two top teams in each division playing in “The Night of Champions”.

U18 Recreation Hockey: The same evaluation system and team placement will be used as in U11-U15.  The year will consist of one weekday game per week. We will be adding practices for the 2024/2025 season. Each team will receive a practice every second week, likely on Sunday evenings. These practices will be shared with another U18 team. Female Recreation Hockey

Kamloops MHA intends to have female only recreation teams in all divisions U9 to U18. The number of females registering for Female teams will determine the number of teams that we have.

Female recreation teams in U11 and above will play within an OMAHA administered league so travel throughout the OMAHA district for league games will be required.
